April

Good morning all.
After looking at lots of other blogs I have decided that mine needs a revamp, so I have added a new header. I do wonder how crafting bloggers out there get their lively, vibrant titles, it is obviously a skill I have yet to aquire.

I wanted to advertise the super April offer from Stampin'Up but the picture just doesn't want to go in the right place or at the right size!!!  Be assured that my crafting skills are far better than my blogging skills.  Anyway what I am trying to get across is that if you would like to put in an order so you can qualify for a pack of the lovely papers, please email me.

At my next class on the 19th April (1pm and 7pm) we are going to make a shoe (from my weekend at Quorn) and a lovely card using the Everything Eleanor stamp set.  Hope to have a picture next time.

Welcome home, Zoe, glad you had a great time in the USA.

Thank you Lesley for your nice comment!
Just to cheer us up on this miserable morning I have included a photo of the snowdrops at Hodstock Priory near Retford.  Too late to go this year but I do recommend a visit next Spring the gardens are lovely.

It is definitely the weather for staying at home and crafting today, winter seems to have returned!
I wish you all the very best from Lincolnshire.
Many thanks for reading this.
Happy crafting!  Mandy  (mandy1390@yahoo.co.uk)

Home again!!

Good afternoon to any one out there.  I am home from my holiday and already back to reality with a vengeance!!!  Sam is home from Uni writing a 5000 word essay on a subject which is like a foreign language to me, Em is home from school swotting up for her A levels and yours truly is supplying cups of tea, meals and clean clothes.   Oh, to be still sunning myself on Deck 6 while we sail across the High Seas!!!

This is me with the Captain.  He didn't know me of course, I was just one in a long queue of passengers.  A nice occasion though...the welcome on board party

While I was away one of my team became rather poorly so to begin our Saturday workshop we all signed a card to wish her well.  We  send our very best wishes and lots of hugs.  Love and good wishes too, to Emma who is home and getting on well.  I wish I could go on her weekend workshop in May, but unfortunately it clashes with SU training in Leamington.  If you are free that weekend do go on to Emma's blog and get the details.  It is bound to be a really interesting and stimulating weekend. (emma-daye.blogspot.com)

We (Ginny and I ) based our whole day workshop last week on the Punch Potpourri stamp set which we gave out as part of the day.  We all made five cards and certainly renewed our  liking for the heart stamp and the boho blossoms.

A lovely monochrome design with real red hearts.

Early expresso, pink pirouette and baha breeze are the colours here.

All the designs are based on ones seen on the internet and we are  grateful to all those of you who inspire us with your great designs.

Three of Anita's cards.

This card was made by Sue, using Ginny's design.
I do like the flower made with folded hearts using the heart to heart punch .

I really must go on a photography course...I am getting worse!
Nearly time for dinner........what shall we have?  That is always the worst part for me, once I have settled on Quorn cottage pie or Spanish omelette, the rest is plain sailing!!! (Sam has become a vegetarian just to help things along!)
By the way, many thanks to the writer of the blog "My own little corner of the web" for the great Lemon Drizzle Cake recipe which I found on her blog.  The cake was superb.  I shall make another for Easter tea.

Ginny has a class on Monday16th April at 1.30 and my next ones are at 1pm and 7pm on Thursday, 19th April. Just email to book a place.

Incidentally there is a Jubliee Craft Fair at the Festival Hall, Market Rasen from 10am to 3pm on Saturday, 19th May.  There are a wide variety of craft stalls selling craft materials as well as handcrafted gifts, so why not come along?

Hope you all have a lovely Easter break.
Happy crafting.
Mandy
