On Sunday I joined a number of crafters at Pat Mellows' stamping day.  Elsa had brought along all the materials and lots of ideas for us to try...all in aid of Childline.  As well as crafting we enjoyed Pat's excellent lasagne and apple pie lunch and I understand, in excess of £500 was raised for this very worthwhile charity.   It was a super day.

There was no way I could have made all the cards but I had a good go and made this one........

..............and this one.  ( I can't get it to go the right way up!!)

This one is Jill's.

More tomorrow!  Mx

More 'layer' cards using Stampin'Up stamp set "Creative Elements" .

I like the Crisp Cantaloupe "Ruffle Stretch Trim"  ribbon.  I have this ribbon in all the new colours now and I am crazy about them.  I sell them by the metre if you want to give them a try, 92p plus second class postage or, of course, you can buy a 9 metre roll for £8.25. Just email me.
Happy crafting.  Mx

Saturday found me at Sue's Craft and Chat Club.  She really is a happy, friendly person and we always have a great day.  We made a number of 'layer' cards (not sure what they are really called!) and I was really pleased with the results.......... (there's that Flower Shop stamp set again and the Venetian Romance DSP!)

Sue provided the original measurements (email me if you would like them) which made the 41/2 by 6 card and then I fiddled and finally came up with a square card which looks fine.....

The Stampin'Up stamp set "Everything Eleanor" was ideal for the stamped swirls and the "Fancy Fan" embossing folder made an interesting background.  Pity you can't see the rhinestones on the flowers.
More samples tomorrow.  Mx

I also gave the ladies some Stampin'Up materials and let them be creative...gosh there were some very different cards, some of which I did photograph!

Not sure where all the butterflies came from!    WHY won't blogs let you put things where you want them?  I do like the little Hello stamp which is in the "Happy Day" stamp set, I use it a lot as it fits into most spaces!  Have a good day.  Mx

Monday, 4 November 2013

In the same week I went off to Boultham Park Craft Group to do a demo and we made three cards.  This was my favourite...shamelessly cased from Zoe when I was there the week before!  The ladies really liked the Stampin'Up "Flower Shop" stamp set and made some great cards which I forgot to photograph!!! This was my sample...........

........................and this was Zoe's original.

A pleasing card whichever you prefer.   Mx

One afternoon in October Janice and I went to Maxine's to make some 'baby cards'!  There was a lot of chat and laughter but we managed to make a few.

This is one of Maxines and...............

....................this is one that Janice made.

Wasn't all about babies as you can see!

In the afternoon we used the Stampin'Up "Build a Banner Kit" to make a joyful Christmas banner.  I came straight home and ordered the kit and the "Accessory Kit" so that crafters coming to my Christmas workshop on the 12th November can make one too.

I have 2 places for the 1pm workshop and 1 place for the 7pm workshop, if you would like to come along.
Just email or ring me asap.

In October we had a whole day at Zoe's craft room experimenting with new products and enjoying good company.  One of the demonstrators there was Linda and I have to recommend her blog to you.  She makes super projects and runs excellent workshops.  Do get in touch with her if you live in or around Grimsby. She can be found at www.lindascraftroom.blogspot.co.uk

In the morning we made lots of Christmas cards using the Stampin'Up "Season of Style Journaling Tags" (a bargain at only £4.50) and the very useful "Wishing You" stamp set.

More tomorrow!   Mx

Thursday, 31 October 2013

This card is made using the Stampin'Up " Papilion Potpourri" stamp set and the "Modern Mosaic"       embossing folder.  I discovered that you need to cut out the ovals BEFORE embossing or you manage to flatten your design!!!

Have a great day!  Mx

A simple but effective card for Christmas.  Unfortunately the DSP has been retired, however, the new patterns on the DSP stacks are really striking.

Had a good day at the Great Northern Papercraft Extravaganza on Saturday.  It was much smaller than I expected but there was lots of space and it was much easier to see the demos and talk to exhibitors. Glitter and bling seem to be on trend!!

Yesterday we had a Christmas workshop and used the lovely new Stampin'Up stamp set Calm Christmas.

The other evening Maxine brought some really lovely cards to show us.  It is such a pity that I am unable to produce decent photos but I wanted to show how she has used just two colours of Stampin'Up inks to make her cards to great effect.

I am sorry Maxine that I have not done them justice. You can't even see how the first two have well cut borders along the flowers!!  Mx

Sunday, 29 September 2013

I have fallen in love with the fantastic new Stampin'Up Simply Pressed Clay.

It is so simple to produce the pretty flowers which I have used on this card.

Why not contact me and order some of this magic product?  It is really well priced at £6.25 for a big bag.

Disaster......I couldn't find my StazOn Black Ink Pad and I had planned another poppy card which would involve water colouring!!!!  So I compromised and used Versamark and Embossing Powder, but the result was far from subtle.

Not sure why I can't recover the photo....I will try again later!  Mx
At last...here is Mary's card.

Friday, 27 September 2013

This week we enjoyed using masking and sponging techniques.......

Don't forget, time is running out to take advantage of the Papillon Potpourri and butterfly punch bundle 15% cheaper at only £23.97

Back again and feeling rested and relaxed.  Went to Stampin'Up training in Leeds with Zoe and Emily on Thursday and as usual met some lovely people. Got some great "swaps" too.  Here are mine....

This lovely "swap" was made by Barbara Beck and yes, there is a chocolate in the little packet.!

Unfortunately, no name on the back of this clean and simple card,  but I do love the colour combination of Basic Grey and Pumpkin Pie.

More "swaps" tomorrow,   Mx
