Hello all,

I am really looking forward to the opening of my new craftroom (my converted garage!) on Saturday.

The invitations have gone out, the champagne bought, the cupcakes ordered (my downline, Dawn, makes the most fantastic cakes) and my upline, Zoe, has been invited to cut the ribbon...so we should be able to celebrate properly before we settle down for an afternoon's crafting.

Ginny and I have ideas for 4 cards and a calendar using materials from the new mini cataloge.

On Thursday I had my usual craft classes and we made two cards with men in mind (colour wise!) and a pleasing valentine card.

Unfortunately the photo doesn't show the paper piercing we did using the very useful mat pack.
I really do like the stamp set "Happiest Birthday Wishes", a super buy using your hostess pounds.

Stampers 6
I am starting up a brand new Stampers 6 club to take effect as soon as all of the places are filled
Heres how it works!!

I need 6 crafters to join the club who commit to spending a minimum of £25 a month (plus 50 pence P&P) for 6 months.

Each month one of the 6 members will be classed as the "hostess" for that month and will receive a minimum of a £25 hostess pounds to spend anywhere in the catalogue, or enabling you to purchase the special hostess only items on pages 8 - 12 of the current catalogue, a special "deal" for hostess's as they represent additional savings.
Dont worry.... being hostess simply means you get freebies that month, it doesnt mean you have to let us all come round to your house for tea and biscuits.

You will receive a free Stampin Up catalogue (value £5.95) at the start of the club and any further mini catalogues that might appear during the six months.

Now, what do you think?  It must be a good way to build up quality resources without too much effort.
Please email me for more information or to register a place before they fill up !!!!!

Look forward to hearing from you.   Thank you for joining me for a few moments.

Happy crafting.

January 2012

Hurrah for Zoe...she has once again come to my rescue and sorted me out so I can write a few words for you on my blog.   It must be very frustrating to look for your latest project to find that I have not updated for weeks!!!!  I really will try harder to keep on track and not mess things up!

In November Ginny and I went to the workshop at the Bentley in Lincoln run by Zoe and Emma.  As usual we learned some new techniques and used the new incolour range of papers and inks.  A really enjoyable afternoon.

On Thursday 20th October it was our usual Stampin'Up day at Dunholmewhen we made tea light holders amongst other things!!!

December 3rd found me in Grassington for their Dickensian Christmas Market. Unfortunately it was a bitterly cold day, and the village was very crowded. There seemed to be an interesting craft shop, but there was a long queue just to get in the door!
On the 5th, Ginny went off to Egypt to enjoy sunshine, swimming and unlimited food and drinks! I understand she had a wonderful time… not surprising really.

Our craft club on Tuesday concentrated on black and white, producing very successful and attractive cards and bags.

The 15th December saw the last workshop of the year when we made two  lovely cards and a matching bag.

I think they were amongst the best designs we have tackled this year.  Many thanks to all those who came along to our classes or invited us into their homes, you all certainly contributed to making it a very happy time for us both.

Since then I have been having my garage converted into a craft room and I am pleased to say that the final screw went in today!!!!!!  So we are all set for a grand opening on
Saturday, 28th January.

If you would like to join us for a day's crafting on the 28th from 11am to 4pm, do ring and book a place.  On that day we will be taking our inspiration from the new mini catalogue that went live a few days ago.  So come along and make some cards with us and a calendar, too.  Cost for the day will be £25 including lunch,  all materials and a taster bag.
Incidentally, this year's Sale-a-bration runs from January 24th until March 31st and is a promotion which offers free products, one for every £45 you spend!  I know many of you took advantage of this excellent offer last year and a sneak preview has certainly shown that this years free designer paper and stamp sets on offer are definitely worth collecting.  It would be an ideal time to invite a few friends round and host a Stampin'Up party.  There are some excellent hostess gifts to be had too.
Happy crafting.  Mandy and Ginny

October was a busy month!

Good evening crafters...if you are still out there.  Don't you just hate it when you sign onto a blog to find that it is still the same as before!!!  And now I am as guilty as the next one.    After a few weeks away I have finally got down to writing a new post.

When I was on holiday in September I met some great people and the whole experience made me realise that I have to get my priorities sorted...so I have resigned as a school governor and a Bishop's visitor.  My resignation to the Youth Offending Service is in the post and I have decided to convert my garage into a craft room. I am going to spend time doing what I love best...crafting with friends.

We had a super afternoon at the beginning of October when we sat in the sunny conservatory making milk carton boxes...it caused great amusement...but they eventually turned out really well.  They will certainly be useful to contain simple Christmas gifts. All together we made 5 projects as you can see from Sues picture above. (If you would like the measurements and instructions for the milk carton box, do get in touch.)

One of the projects was the 'twisty sweet favours' from last months Impressions.  We made them using the 'Frightful sight' papers and they looked great.  I have made about a dozen and filled them with sweets. They are sitting on my worktop waiting
for the children who come 'trick or treating' tomorrow night.

Also in October we went to the Bentley Hotel in Lincoln for an afternoon workshop with Zoe and Emma.  As usual they were full of new ideas and certainly turned me onto the new InColours which had not inspired me much to begin with.

Many thanks to Lynn Petitt of Grimsby Crafts who once again welcomed us into her lovely shop to demonstrate Stampin'Up products. Her shop is filled with a huge stock of crafting materials but still she wanted to buy some special products from the new SU catalogue.

Yesterday saw us crafting once again with some lovely ladies who made a variety of projects.  Here are Anita and Cindy concentrating on getting things just right.
You can see that Rita was getting lots of advice from Sue and Ginny!
